POSITION TITLE: Donor Relations Manager

REPORTS TO: Director, VIP Department & Speaker Bureau
BACKGROUND:
The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) VIP Department is responsible for developing, marketing and implementing campaign-centered major donors’ visits to Israel.
The department gives services to 157 Federations and 400 independent Jewish communities across North America.
The Department supports Federations in developing integrated campaign-centered major donors’ visits which has proven to have motivational effect for major donors results in increased giving, leadership, and community involvement.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
As a member of the Jerusalem-based VIP Team, this position supports the execution of all assigned major donors visits alongside the other team members
This function requires:
Research and development of new ideas and programs for innovative major donors’ visits custom-made itineraries.
Present Federations and major donors with creative, innovative visits programs and itineraries and providing updates as necessary.
Making every possible effect to include the most meaningful and engaging campaign visits to show Federation “dollar at work”
·Take responsibility for the visits, sharing fairly in the team’s workload and actively monitor visits that are assigned to other team members, when other team members are unavailable or on vacation.
Coordinate programming and implementation with Operators, Agents, JAFI, JDC and clients.
·Provide immediate alerts to the department’s director of any possible problems or issues re his/her assigned visits.
Initiate when applicable a letter to the Federations’ heads providing with insight information which surfaced during the visit and can serve as a tool in increasing campaign gift, involvement in the Federation or engaging the next generation and other donors.
Engage in and contribute to team brainstorming sessions
·Share with all team members experiences and lessons learned from assigned visits.
Share ideas and solutions for process improvements.
Assume administrative duties as required.
Assist partner agencies (e.g. JAFI, JDC) in developing site visits that can inspire and motivate ma participants.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of services given to VIPs.
Knowledge of North American Jewish Federations – both large and small, with an understanding of their values and priorities
Knowledge of various aspects of incoming tourism to Israel including geography and sites. Experience tour operating – a bonus.
Keen understanding of the Israel’s social and political challenges and passion to share them with others
Knowledge Jewish world
Excellent communication skills and ability to anticipate and respond to issues in ‘near real-time’.
Knowledge of Jewish values and traditions and ability to passionately share them when communicating with Federations and donors.
Demonstrable understanding and commitment to the Jewish community
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be able to plan and organize assignments independently.
Must be a team player, with the ability to work closely with others.
English at a level of mother tongue plus Hebrew knowledge.
Computer skills including Office Word and Excel.
